Portland, Maine – Nearly four years after the opening of its Portland office, the law firm of Eaton Peabody has leased larger space at 100 Middle Street, Portland. Currently, Eaton Peabody’s office is at One Portland Square. Eaton Peabody has experienced close to 300% growth in its Portland office and a 30% growth in its attorney ranks firm wide. When the firm opened the Portland office in 2013, it leased space in anticipation of a long-term residence. However, steady growth in attorneys, staff and clients in Portland has precipitated the need for larger office space earlier than expected.
“For some firms growth means opening up offices out of state but Eaton Peabody has experienced growth right here in Maine. Our lawyers are highly-trained, experienced professionals with excellent reputations and we serve our clients throughout the state in diverse industries,” says David Austin, President of Eaton Peabody. “As we take on more work statewide, growth is a natural result to better serve our clients and expand our services.”
Eaton Peabody will move into 100 Middle Street during the first quarter of 2017. Resident attorneys will be: Neal Pratt, Seth Brewster, Ernie Babcock, Matt Worthen, Bruce Hochman, Ed Feibel, David Pierson, David Wakelin, Leslie Hallock, Anne O’Donovan, Erica Johanson, Alfred Frawley III, and Micah Smart.
“We are very pleased with the success of our Portland office,” said Neal Pratt, managing shareholder of Eaton Peabody’s Portland office. “Our success speaks for itself, and is a function of striking a very effective balance between large firm capacity and small firm efficiency. Our larger offices will enhance our ability to provide top notch legal services while preserving our option for growth.”
