Mike Hodgins practices in general civil litigation, with a focus on construction and other commercial litigation in State and Federal Courts.
Mike’s experience in construction litigation includes defense of personal injury and property damage claims, mechanic’s liens and payment claims such as damages for delay, claims for additional work and differing site conditions. His work in the construction arena includes review and negotiation of construction and supply contracts and resolution of disputes before they rise to the litigation stage. Mike has presented at numerous seminars directed toward the construction industry.
Mike’s general litigation experience includes a wide array of cases, from personal injury to real estate disputes, business dissolution and shareholder disputes, and estate contests. He represents real estate brokers and agents before the Maine Real Estate Commission and in civil litigation of contract and tort claims involving real estate professionals.
Mike represents towns in contract disputes and other general litigation, land use enforcement actions, Rule 80B appeals to Superior Court and he has participated in several appeals to the Law Court. He has been listed by Best Lawyers in America in many practice areas, with distinction for land use and zoning, and recognized for his general litigation practice by New England Super Lawyers.
Mike is a trained mediator and serves as a neutral to assist parties in disputes that are as varied as his litigation practice.
